Santa was exceptionally kind in 2024 as a silver edition of Pentax’s K1 mkii was waiting under the Christmas Tree for me! To be honest it was not a surprise as the family had purchased and squirrelled it away during the summer after I found one brand new in the box. As I had spent my 2024 camera allowance by the time I found it, a generous combined family Christmas and Birthday present was the only way I could secure it.

Finding a brand new silver edition of this model is increasingly difficult as only 1000 units were produced in 2020, a number of which found their way onto collectors shelves. So I consider myself very lucky to have taken ownership of one four years after its release.

Regarding usage, it is early days yet and I am still becoming acquainted with its many settings and handling. I will write a review of it once I become more experienced. For now, here are my first efforts using it with DFA* 50mm and 85mm lenses.
