In 2010 we made a journey from Athens, Greece, heading westwards across the Aegean Sea to the islands of Ikaria, Fourni and Samos. Ethan captured the trip for PhotoArk’s Travel Diary section https://photoark.co.uk/index.php/travel-diaries/eastern-aegean-islands while my own work remained unseen due to using film cameras. I have since scanned the original 35mm slides and created this collection showing some of the highlights.

Equipment used was an Olympus OM4Ti camera body with Zuiko 21mm f2, 50mm f1.2 and 180mm f2.8 lenses. Film stock was Kodak Ektachrome E100G 100. As the colour balance of E100G is fairly neutral I used an Olympus CPOL filter for some of the shots. Additionally I used AI algorithms on the image of the Parthenon to remove a clutter of cranes, scaffolding and fences that surrounded the site in an effort to restore some of the site’s majesty from what, in 2010, felt more like a construction site.
